Taproom & Operations Manager

Overview
We’re looking for a Taproom & Operations Manager to lead the taproom and help grow sales through events and customer relationships.

You’ll be a consistent presence in the taproom, manage front-of-house staff, and take ownership of events while maintaining relationships with bars and restaurants. We’re looking for someone organized, reliable, and people-focused who’s comfortable balancing service, operations, and sales.

Front of House

  • ~3 taproom shifts per week (~24 hours)
  • Manage and support FOH (2–3 seasonal staff)
  • Oversee scheduling, training, and service standards

Operations & Events

  • Manage licensee availability and inside sales orders
  • Oversee deliveries and logistics (D2C and B2B)
  • Act as the main point of contact for private events
  • Grow private event bookings
  • Coordinate off-site events and farmers markets

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising staff or leading shifts
  • Strong communication skills (in-person and email)
  • Experience in events, breweries, or food & beverage
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends (taproom + events)
  • Smart Serve certification

Compensation

  • $24/hour + tips (taproom shifts)
  • 15% commission on all private events

Brewery & Farm Worker

Overview

We’re looking for a seasonal Brewery & Farm Worker to support day-to-day operations across the brewery and farm from May to the end of August. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on tasks, learning new skills, and working independently. You will help keep the brewery and farm running while assisting with production, farm maintenance, and seasonal harvesting.

Responsibilities

  • Part-time and seasonal
  • Assist on the packaging line, including canning and bottling beer
  • Label beer and help pick and pack orders
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the brewery, including keg washing
  • Work in the small fruit orchard and assist with harvesting and foraging ingredients
  • Groundskeeping support and basic farm maintenance
  • Delivering beer to customers and licensees on a weekly basis

About You

  • Comfortable with both indoor and outdoor, hands-on work
  • Able to operate riding lawnmower and other landscaping equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, and performing repetitive tasks
  • Curious and eager to learn about brewing and farming practices
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and priorities

Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years or older
  • SmartServe certification required
  • Clean driving record (3 year driving history required)
  • Previous experience in a brewery, farm, or similar hands-on environment is an asset

Details

  • Part-time and seasonal
  • 30 hrs/week

  • $20 per hour

Brewery & Market Server

Overview
We’re looking for a seasonal Brewery & Market Server to work in the beer garden, taproom, and bottle shop, and represent Sonnen Hill at farmers' markets from May to the end of August. This role involves both on-site and off-site work and is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently as well as on a team. You will be the first point of contact for new and returning customers and will be responsible for upholding Sonnen Hill’s vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide exceptional service
  • Responsibly serve alcohol and snacks in the taproom and beer garden in accordance with service standards
  • Represent Sonnen Hill at farmers’ markets, including pouring, selling, and engaging with guests
  • Independently transport, set up, and take down market equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the taproom, beer garden, and bottle shop
  • Operate the POS system, including retail and processing payments
  • Serve beer at off-site events as needed

About You

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communicator with exceptional customer service skills
  • Personable, friendly, and welcoming presence
  • Curious and excited to learn about beer, brewing, and our products
  • Comfortable working flexible or extended hours

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record (3 year driving history required)
  • SmartServe certification
  • Previous serving or brewery experience is an asset
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
