Visiting Us - Sonnen Hill Brewing Skip to content

Our taproom and beer garden offer a relaxing space to enjoy well-made beer. Only an hour from Toronto, Sonnen Hill offers a quiet break from the city on a 37-acre farm in Caledon.

WINTER HOURS: SATURDAY 12–6

The beer garden

This former horse paddock is now a wide-open space to enjoy a pint and some lawn games in the great outdoors. Our record player feeds the sound system for a relaxed, groovy time. The garden is family-friendly, and leashed dogs are always welcome.

The taproom

During the cooler months, or hottest days you’re welcome to enjoy a beer in our cozy taproom. Play a board game or chat to our staff about the rotating record collection.

Walking trail

A twenty-minute loop around the back of the brewery that goes up the hill then back through wild apple trees. The lookout is the tallest point for miles so you get a clear view of the surrounding area. You might even see our neighbours goats, cows, or some wild turkeys.

WHAT WE'RE UP TO

We’re lucky to be surrounded by some great hiking trails, conservation areas, restaurants, and shops, all just a hop, skip, and a jump from the brewery.

Glen Cross Side Trail Easily our favourite hike in the area. An easy to moderate loop through coniferous and deciduous forests, streams, and sumac. (10 mins)

Good Hawk An honest, approachable, and ingredient-driven restaurant. Open for dinner Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. (15 mins)

Aloma is a furniture, lighting, and home accessories showroom hidden down a quiet laneway in Orangeville, with a rotating lineup of local artisans and makers. (9 mins)

Mono Cliffs Inn A historic restaurant that uses fresh and local ingredients with with an authentic pub downstairs. (20 mins)

Hockley General Store A quaint country store with speciality groceries, coffee, a bakery, and restaurant. (15 mins)

Forks of the Credit Provincial Park A great option if you’re looking for a bigger excursion. The 6-mile loop takes about 2.5–3 hours and follows the Credit River through the park. (15 mins)

Angels Diner A retro, family-run diner offering generous portions and friendly service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (7 mins)

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

We’ve worked with our local conservation authority to plant over 10,000 trees, reintroduce native grasses and wildflowers, and add bird and bat boxes to support the wildlife around us. We’ve also planted over 200 fruit trees, started a vegetable garden, and added 14 beehives that will all play a role in future beers.
